The Chairperson of the Committee of Culture of the Parliament of Georgia Ms. Eliso Bolkvadze paid a working visit to Hungary from February 28 to March 4, 2023.
The meetings with representatives of the Hungarian legislative and executive authorities - Ms.Márta Mátrai, Deputy Speaker of the Hungarian Parliament, Dr. Laszlo Posan, Chairperson of the Committee on Culture, Mr. Lorincz Nacsa, Chair of the Hungary-Georgia Inter-parliamentary Friendship Group, Dr. Tibor Navracsics, Minister of Regional Development,
Ms. Eszter Vitályos, Deputy Minister for Culture and Innovation, Mr Miklós Lengyel, Deputy State Secretary of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs - were held within the frames of the visit.
The role and importance of parliamentary diplomacy as well as strategic cooperation between the two countries were highlighted at the meetings. The parties agreed on further expanding bilateral relations and outlined plans for future cooperation.
During her visit in Budapest Ms. Bolkvadze also met with the leadership of the Liszt Academy of Music, Magyar Filharmonia and the Hungarian House of Music.
The Hungarian officials reiterated their firm support for Georgia’s EU integration, emphasizing the significance of Georgia’s unique culture for Europe as a whole.
Ambassador Mrs. Tamara Liluashvili and Senior Counsellor of the Embassy Mr. Sandro Chelidze took part in the visit.
