Tbilisi Belt and Road Forum kicks off in November

Tbilisi Belt & Road Forum

On November 28-29, 2017, Tbilisi will host the Belt & Road Forum, which is essentially a forum shaped in the tradition of the Silk Road Forum, which was first held in Tbilisi in 2015 and served as a platform for the discussion of various important issues related to trade facilitation in the region and beyond. The Belt and Road Forum will preserve this format with the first day being dedicated to the discussion of a full spectrum of issues related to trade conducted within five panels, while the second day will focus on private sector dialogue and highlight Georgia’s investment opportunities.

This year’s forum aims to serve as a platform for high-level government and private sector dialogue, which is vitally important to businesses and Georgia. The Tbilisi Belt and Road Forum expects to host over 1,000 political leaders, diplomats, experts, representatives of international organizations and businesses, who will converge on the capital to discuss factors that define both regional and global trade, including trade facilitation, opportunities for e-commerce and digital connectivity, transport infrastructure and the energy sector. In addition, the forum will also offer companies an opportunity to participate in business-to-business meetings, networking and the chance to share experiences and knowledge.

The Belt and Road Forum will be held at the Biltmore Hotel in Tbilisi’s city center. Those interested in the full agenda can click here. Registration is open until October 31.
